In 2024, I shadowed the Head of Analytics. At the conclusion of the season, I was given the role of Head of Analytics for Brock Baseball.
In 2025, I solely used Microsoft Excel. This was to collect data, transform data, and present data.
I used hard-coded formulas that read the collected data and transformed into statistics. I would translate the information to pitchers to assess areas of improvement.
These reports were sent to each pitcher through messaging and talked about in person. It was a pure report component and lacked strategy.
Going into this season, I had made an emphasis to organize a game strategy using the information as opposed to independent statistics.
Using R and AI tool, Codex, I developed a website that presented the information in an accessible and easily understood form.
With the players having access to it, they can access all of their statistics and filter desireable findings.
A blindspot in our strategy was pitch calling and opposing lineup game planning.
A solution to this problem was having a catcher arm sleeve that had where to attack for each batter.
The team went 13-2 (including the playoffs).
Going 3-0 in the playoffs and winning the OUA Championship.
I am happy to say that I contributed to the teams success. With the Gold Medal game plan, highlighting my contributions.
